Melinda

Practice Manager/ Practice Nurse

Melinda commenced her nursing career at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital, in the Intensive Care Unit after graduating from Australian Catholic University in 2013. It was here that Melinda recognised her passion for delivering person centred care and building ongoing relationships with patients and their families alike. This eventually lead to a change in career to become a General Practice nurse.

Melinda also holds a qualification as a nurse immuniser and has a keen interest in providing care to people across their lifespan. In her spare time Melinda enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Ashlee

Practice Manager

Ashlee has been apart of Brookwater General Practice for many years as the practice 2IC. She has now taken on the position of Practice Manager with our Senior Nurse Melinda. She’s enthusiastic and passionate when it comes to patient care. Ashlee has worked within the medical sector for over 15 years as she previously worked as a medical receptionist and Practice Manager in other practices. She feels comfortable working a long side Doctors as she has worked with General Practitioners, Dentists and Psychologists in her working career. Ashlee takes pride in her position and is understanding, kind and caring and will always try and make a patient feel comfortable. Ashlee has always been a local and doesn’t live far from the area. She is married with three children and loves spending all her spare time with them. Her interests include, Camping, renovating and exercising.

Ann-Marie

Practice Nurse

Ann-Marie began her nursing career in the neuro stroke rehabilitation unit at Gold Coast University Hospital after graduating from Griffith University. Following this, she spent 3 years as a nurse in Mental Health at Logan Hospital, where she discovered her passion for helping patients from every walk of life delivering holistic care. Having a keen interest in community health, led her to a career in General Practice nursing.

Ann-Marie enjoys keeping fit with pole fitness and spending time with her family four wheel driving. She also loves to paddle board, swim and travel.

Kelsey

Practice Nurse

Kelsey graduated from James Cook University in 2011 and began her career in Townsville as a Neurosurgical ward nurse. She then transitioned to Intensive Care in Townsville before moving to Brisbane and continuing in the same field at the RBWH, before completing further post graduate qualifications in Critical Care Nursing at Griffith University.

Since then, she has worked in medical, surgical and paediatric wards as well as the emergency department. Currently, Kelsey is also working in nursing education within the local public hospital. She is always keen to try new specialities and believes healthcare is a dynamic profession to learn in.
Kelsey, much like most of our team, has young children at home and enjoys the work life balance that general practice nursing offers, in addition to the ability to create meaningful professional relationships with her patients on a different level to what can be achieved in a hospital setting.

Practice Nurse

Mollie graduated from the University of New England in 2018 and started her career in general Practice with the Lockyer Doctors. She has always been passionate about the continuity of care that working in General Practice provides, and believes that health promotion and education is important for every member of the community to achieve great quality of life.

In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors with her family and spending time with her friends.

Practice Receptionist/ 2IC

I have been part of the team for the past seven years and recently stepped into the 2IC role. One of the things I enjoy most about working here is the supportive environment. Everyone is wonderful to work with, and I feel fortunate to consider my colleagues good friends. I especially enjoy the general practice side of medical reception and being able to help patients feel welcomed and cared for each day. Outside of work, I enjoy going for walks, spending time at the beach, and spending quality time with my friends and family.

Practice Receptionist/2IC

Anna started working in a GP practice in the UK in 2015 in a joint clinical and admin role. In 2016, Anna completing her Level 2 Diploma in business administration and also certificate in Phlebotomy. Anna enjoys patient engagement and providing support.

Outside of work, Anna enjoys spending time outdoors exploring nature with her children and is always reading.
